Bringing Groupon home to Chicago...grocery!
Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 11:48AM We're pleased to announce that we've now brought the "Groupon in Grocery" model of supermarket social buying to a second chain, Supervalu's Jewel-Osco banner in Chicago. The deal is for $15 of Unilver Ice Cream (Breyer's, Popsicle, Klondike, Good Humor, Starbucks, and Ben & Jerry's) for just $9.
Quite frankly, we're thrilled: We're thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with leading retailers. We're thrilled to help represent and promote great brands. We're thrilled to work with Groupon, the leader in online, social commerce. We're thrilled that this continues to validate our unique proposition, that social buying can succeed in grocery with digital load-to-card execution (no paper certificate required), Groupon purchaser/shopper analysis (never before available for Groupons), targeted follow on offers (also never before available), and collaboration between brands and chains.
Most of all, we're thrilled that a few thousand people in the Chicago area will enjoy a cooler summer with a little more—much cheaper!—ice cream.
The full details are available on our press release.
